Bio

Sarah joined the Good Governance Institute (GGI) as Events Manager in April 2022. Prior to GGI, she has worked within the events industry managing events for various pharmaceuticals and in her most recent position within a medical device company leading on the organisation of educational events for the NHS.

Sarah’s passion for events emerged during her studies at Anglia Ruskin University whereby she achieved a First-Class degree in Marketing. After completing a graduate programme in product development Sarah began her career within events when she joined an events and venue finding agency.

Within this role, she organised a variety of events nationally and internationally including annual conferences, training events, advisory-board meetings, senior leadership meetings, Christmas parties and everything in-between. As the manager of the pharmaceutical team Sarah developed her account management skills as well as knowledge of the events industry including building relationships with venues, negotiation skills and an understanding of various codes of practise and compliance when planning events for pharma and medical clients.

Sarah transferred her skills learnt from the agency-side of event planning and moved across to work within a medical device organisation in 2018. Her four years within the company was where Sarah really grew her project management skills, leading on multiple event projects at any given time which honed her organisational skills, keen eye for detail and ability to problem-solve and work well under pressure. In 2020, when the pandemic hit Sarah pivoted all events to the digital world. Having never run a digital event before, Sarah quickly adapted her skills to ensure her clients, Health Care Professionals within the NHS, could still access educational training and events during unprecedented times.

Joining GGI, and as we move out of the pandemic and into the “new-normal”, Sarah is excited to bring her skills learnt in previous roles as well as her passion, dedication and drive to deliver excellence and engagement through events for GGI and for our clients.

Outside of work, Sarah is an animal-lover with pets of her own and is also a volunteer for the Cinnamon Trust, supporting people with the care of their animals when they may not be able to do so themselves. She has also been involved with other charities including the Alzheimer’s Society and Prostate Cancer UK – two charities very close to Sarah’s heart.

Her family and friends mean everything to Sarah and her ideal day-off would be spending time with loved ones at home watching a good crime documentary or binge-watching a Netflix series! Having said that… Sarah also enjoys travelling and exploring cities and their culture, some of her favourites include New York and Rome.
