Biography

Roderick is a senior NHS executive with experience in steering challenging complex clinical projects to successful outcomes.

He has more than 30 years’ experience in the NHS, including 12 as director of finance in commissioning organisations in Sussex and Kent, and more than three serving as a member of NICE Technical Appraisal committee.

Roderick has led financially challenged commissioning organisations to success, promoting collaborative working within the NHS and local government bodies.

In 2014, he moved from commissioning to provider roles, starting at Brighton and Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust as project director, leading the development of a successful business case for the provision of new radiotherapy services including satellite units. More recently he has been leading the development of digital pathology services for East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, taking the case into a Sussex-wide context.

As an active member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), Roderick was instrumental in establishing the association’s Environmental Sustainability Special Interest Group, which draws interested NHS finance professionals together with professional accounting bodies and other external guests beyond the NHS.
