Jonathan is an experienced non-executive director, chair and board-level adviser able to draw on experiences in non executive and top-team executive roles across private, public and voluntary sectors.

Jonathan’s portfolio currently includes: non-exec chair of dxw – an employee-owned public sector digital agency; chair of the charity In2scienceUK and Independent Chair of the audit committee for St Albans City and District Council. He is also an independent member of the audit committee for the police in Hertfordshire. Additionally he acts as an adviser and board-level consultant to a range of commercial, public sector and not for profit organisations.

Jonathan was formerly: a member of the independent service transformation challenge panel appointed by Treasury and DCLG; managing director of a consulting business; commercial development director for a major financial services company; deputy chief executive of a county council (including many multi-agency boards), local government executive head-hunter and advisor; and local government sector strategist for a FTSE-50 company.

As a non-exec for over 20 years he has chaired arts organisations, served as a director and audit chair for a world-class research institute, and been a governor and committee chair (audit, then finance & commercial) for London's leading adult education college. He was a Trustee of mySociety and chaired the board of its trading company SocietyWorks ltd. He has also chaired the multi-stakeholder Improvement and Development Board for Local (Town and Parish) Councils.

Jonathan is an alumnus of the Cabinet Office top management programme and is a fellow of the OR Society, Institute of Directors and the RSA. He holds an MBA from London Business School, and a Masters in Operational Research.

Jonathan is currently working towards becoming a Chartered Director, and has completed the Certificate in Company Direction.
