Biography

Geoff Raw is currently the chief executive at Brighton & Hove City Council appointed in 2015. He previously served the city council as Strategic Director of Place.

Geoff has extensive experience on advising politicians, business leaders and local community organisations on place-based working and investment. This includes establishing the Greater Brighton Economic Board and securing a government backed 'City Deal'.

He also possesses experience working with government, senior civil servants and Ministers whilst at HM Treasury.
His professional background is in planning and economic development, and includes roles as Director of Design, Development & Strategy at the London Development Agency.

Geoff has a strong housing investment, having worked at the Housing Corporation (now Homes England) as their national and subsequently London fund manager. He has taken a leading role in environmental sustainability and net zero carbon investment strategies throughout his career including Wembley Stadium regeneration. Geoff has a burgeoning role leading work for Brighton & Hove City Council with the Sussex NHS Integrated Care Partnership.
