Biography
Before joining the NHS in 2007 David enjoyed a 20-year career as a Fleet Air Arm pilot in the Royal Navy, where senior roles included second in command of a major warship and the commanding officer of a Naval Air Squadron.
He has subsequently held a number of senior commercial roles in the aerospace and defence industries.
In the NHS he has held board roles as director of corporate development and director of strategy, which also included a range of other accountabilities, including senior information risk owner, estates and facilities, health and safety, corporate governance, and communications. He has led a successful foundation trust application and also supported the establishment of the Academic Centre for Health Sciences.
He joined London Northwest University Healthcare NHS Trust in April 2019 and is a chartered director and fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. He is also chair of the board of trustees of St David’s Home, a 65-bed care home in Ealing, West London.
