Biography

Since September 2019 Cathy has been the chair of Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, which delivers mental health and community services to a diverse community. Cathy has also held a ministerial appointment since 2016 as the independent chair of community and business funds for the government’s High Speed 2 (HS2) project.

In her social policy and investment and community engagement consultant advisory role to tackle social inequalities, Cathy works with a range of not-for-profit organisations, particularly the national Power to Change Trust for community businesses and the Savannah Wisdom Foundation on social mobility.

Cathy’s previous experience includes non-executive director for Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, chief executive of community foundations for Lancashire and Merseyside, and interim chief executive of the national charity Belong, working in start-up phase with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

Cathy is a senior international fellow of the Philanthropy & Civil Society faculty of the City University of New York, a post-graduate of CASS Business School, a fellow of the Clore Social Leadership Fellowship, and a graduate of the University of Manchester.
