EHMA special interest group on governance

23 April 2021

GGGI’s track record of supporting a variety of international networks includes the EHMA Governance Special Interest Group and the Johannesburg-based Good Governance Academy. We support organisations we work with access international forums.

In 2019 GGI and EHMA launched a Special Interest Group (SIG) on Governance at the EHMA 2019 Annual Conference. This group is facilitated by GGI and represents a professional, formal and informal network. The aim of the group is to debate and discuss pertinent and topical common issues and challenges, both now and in the future, in the following areas:

  • The future of healthcare delivery and how governance will need to adapt and can support new delivery models

  • Disseminating lessons and best practice internationally on identified governance themes

  • Serve as a pool of expert advice and input into member’s initiatives: including research, publications, events, visits and study tours

  • Facilitated master classes on specific governance challenges led by the Good Governance Institute

Outputs for this network include:

  • At least one annual meeting

  • The sharing of ideas, learning and best practice across Europe

  • Building a European Body of Knowledge on Governance for the benefit of individual members and their organisations.

The first meeting of the SIG on Governance focused on establishing and agreeing the key themes and focus for the group, reflecting the most important issues that the members would like to explore, and identify what this pan-European group can achieve through this membership that they would not be able to access elsewhere.

Those interested in pursuing a more active role within the group can become member of the SIG Advisory Group, which will lead on the co-creation of the group’s next meetings, including shaping the programme and content for publications.

The outputs of these European meetings will be shared with all members and will inform the themes to be agreed for the upcoming meetings.
