Assistant Director Service Development
Donal joined GGI in 2013, and has since risen to the position of Assistant Director, Service Development. Donal provides management support across a range of projects, which have included governance development programmes with health and social care partnerships and within the third sector, and effectiveness reviews at a number of Higher Education institutions.
As Assistant Director, Service Development, Donal works to ensure that GGI responds to the needs of our customers, and continues to develop and expand upon the governance body of knowledge. Donal is a member of the GGI executive management team.
Previously working as Team Leader for Knowledge Management, Donal was involved in developing GGI’s range of publications and projects that contribute to the body of knowledge. This included establishing updated guidance on Clinical Audit and Good Governance in collaboration with HQIP, and a report on the quality and safety implications of telehealthcare services.
Donal obtained his first degree in economics from University College Dublin, before completing graduate studies in sociology at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where his research focused on social attitudes to reproductive rights in the Republic of Ireland. He is passionate about implementing positive social change through improved governance standards, and is a keen runner in his spare time.
