Emma joined GGI in September 2020. She originally joined the team on a communications internship but is now GGI’s communications analyst.

Before joining the GGI team Emma studied history and politics at Lancaster University, with a focus on human rights, peace studies and societal development.

During her time at university Emma worked as a brand manager for Frontline, one of the UK’s leading charities supporting disadvantaged children. She has also volunteered for a number of other UK charities, including Girlguiding and animal rescue causes. This has given her an acute awareness of the need for change across UK society and the important role communication serves in promoting worthwhile causes.

Emma has a particular interest on increasing engagement. Her work as a brand manager meant working extensively with students, stakeholders and staff to raise the profile of the charity. This feeds into her work at GGI, where she is responsible for the GGI Faculty and jointly managing our social media feeds.

Outside work, Emma has a strong interest in the arts, in particular musical theatre. She also enjoys travelling; her trips to Africa, New Zealand and Washington D.C. being her most memorable.
