David joined GGI as a Principal Consultant in 2020. An experienced executive director and chartered company secretary with a track record of delivery and achievement, he understands the mechanics and dynamics of governance and the structures and workings of the NHS and healthcare systems in England. He has achieved high levels of success in corporate affairs, strategy development, governance and operations across the public and private sectors.

David is politically astute and competent at developing a shared agenda and motivating others to forge a clear direction of travel and so secure progress goals. He is driven by attaining the best for people and organisations with the desire to effectively implement change and strategy where required.

An executive director with more than 20 years’ experience, David’s specialties include governance, corporate affairs, regulation, assurance, compliance and control, including CQC inspection readiness and NHSI processes such as well-led reviews. His experience spans clinical and corporate governance, strategic planning, organisational development, risk management, systems of internal control, board assurance, regulatory compliance, and committee effectiveness.

David is an effective strategic decision-maker and an agent of change. He can be relied on to see the bigger picture and is adept at getting people in or across organisational boundaries to work together, and at gaining cost efficiencies and income and partnership working.
