Biography
Jacqui is an experienced strategic leader working at Board level within the public sector for over twenty years.
She has a vast range of experience including leading organisational and transformational change, national policy development, running operational services and operating in high profile, pressured positions. She has worked within national and local government, the charity sector, and two non-departmental public bodies.
In her current role, she is the chief operating officer at Liverpool City Council. She leads the improvement and transformation to deliver the Council's ambitions and recommendations from the Best Value Report and Commissioners.
Previously, she led a a social purpose charity specialising in all aspects of governance and scrutiny. The Centre for Governance and Scrutiny (CfGS) worked with national and local government, alongside other public services, the private and voluntary sector. They influence policy and practice nationally and locally through guidance, support and research aimed at transforming how organisations engage with residents, employees and partners. They are seen as leading the way in public service governance reform.
Prior to CfGS, Jacqui was an executive corporate director at a large county council responsible for a wide range of services including strategy and planning, performance management, customer services, organisational development, digital, transformation and communications.
An experienced public speaker, Jacqui is passionate about tackling inequalities, social value, democracy, equality and diversity, and every citizen having a voice and every opportunity to achieve their potential.
She is a proud Board Member of the New Local (previously the New Local Government Network).
