The board as a 'good actor' in a system

Date: 27 March 2026

Time: 10.00-11.00

Location: Zoom

The NHS 10 Year Plan is the latest step away from the internal market towards the realistic benefits of collaboration and compromise within a local system, and the current changes for ICBs are very much part of this as they move into a place where they catalyse change through becoming strategic commissioners. But what does this mean for both the boards of the new-look ICBs and, importantly, for how NHS and CICs providing NHS services work towards common system goals?

Today’s webinar is led by Dr. Priya Singh who will be well known to all as the current chair of the NCVO but who is also chair of the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West and Frimley ICBs (which are joining together). Previously she was a non-executive at the super trust in central London, Guy’s and St. Thomas.

This webinar will be highly relevant as the new Advanced NHS FT status explicitly speaks to fluency in system working for NHS boards and the new CQC regulatory regime and the Provider Capability Assessments hold systems working as key success criteria.

GGi’s national NHS NED and independent members development webinars are open to all NHS non-executive directors, chairs, independent members and associate non-executive directors of NHS providers.
