Laura joined GGI in November 2014 as a Researcher within the Research & Policy Team. She provides project management support for a number of projects including GGI’s governance review work at the Nottingham Hospital NHS Treatment Centre and NHS Dudley CCG, as well as GGI communications and events support.

Prior to joining GGI, Laura has worked as a research and editorial intern for Foreign Policy Magazine, and as an editorial intern for an English language cinema website based in France. She volunteered for a number of children’s rights NGOs during her time at university, including a project aimed at improving educational outcomes of children from underprivileged backgrounds with Save the Children in her hometown of Timisoara, Romania. Laura held a production and administrative volunteering role at the University of Nottingham’s Digital Humanities Centre, this experience fuelling her passion for the production of video and digital visualization projects.

She completed her postgraduate studies in Social Policy (European & Comparative) at the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2014, where her research focused on the intermediation of public health interests in the European Union, the role of patient groups and public health interest groups in the policy-making process and stakeholder engagement. She previously completed her undergraduate degree in Modern European Studies from the University of Nottingham in Politics, Modern European History and French language and literature.

Laura has a keen interest in how technological innovations can offer opportunities to improve patient health and social care, and enjoys travelling, video production and photography in her spare time.
