Candy Morris

Candy had an NHS career spanning 36 years, with over 19 years as a chief executive. She has top level experience of designing, developing and leading healthcare organisations and wider health systems to improve quality and financial sustainability, drawing on the talents of staff and the engagement of patients, politicians and the wider public and independent sector bodies. She has strategic and operational skills in people and organisational development, large scale transformation, effective governance, risk management, developing strategy, constructive challenge, strategic influencing and independence of thought.

Candy has also chaired the National Institute for Health Research Advisory Board, was senior responsible owner for informatics programmes, and for the establishment of the Health Research Authority. She also steered the establishment from April 2013 of the ‘new’ Health and Social Care Information Centre as interim chair.

Candy is now an Associate with Verita and also with GGI. She is a member of the Advisory Board for Monmouth Partners, and a NED with i4Health. She runs candymorrisconsulting and is an Executive Coach and Mentor.

Candy earned a degree in biochemistry at Oxford University, joining the NHS as a National Trainee upon graduation. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and of the Royal Society of Medicine. Her CBE was awarded for public service.
