Quality and Cost Reductions - How do we exploit the opportunities for improving quality whilst saving costs The QIPP programme aims to use quality management methods to both improve patient care and to release resources to address future demand and savings targets. The BAP draws on much of the evidence and thinking around quality and cost savings, such as the Healthcare Foundation report 'Does improving quality save money?' (Health Foundation 2009). Spending time focussing on quality and cost reductions should be an annual activity for boards, and using the BAP and maturity matrix will support boards do this in a measured and structured way. GGI support individual boards consider their own local quality and cost savings approach. |
