Organisational Status
The Good Governance Institute is being developed as a reference centre to do two things - to help push governance thinking on and to help individual organisations improve their own governance. The Good Governance Institute traces its development back to the board development team at the NHS Clinical Governance Support Team. After the wind up of the NHS Modernisation Agency the board team was passed to Bradford and Airedale Teaching PCT who acted as host organisation for this programme of work. Bradford encouraged the setting up of the Good Governance Institute as an independent organisation and this work is ongoing. Our aims is that the Good Governance Institute will be the guardian of the developing Body of Governance Knowledge (BOK), as well as home for much of the intellectual property generated through our work and that of the former Clinical Governance Support Team, The GGI policy development group supports the oversight of the our programme. We are working with various other membership organisations to develop networks and associates schemes to allow individuals to become associated with the work of the Institute.
In order to generate resources to support the development of the Institute and to make available the our portfolio of products being developed under the banner of the Good Governance Institute, GGI Limited and Good Governance Limited have been set up as trading organisations by the Directors of the Good Governance Institute. The commercial work described on this website is usually undertaken either by GGI Limited or Good Governance Limited. At their twice yearly meetings, the Good Governance Institute policy board are informed of all commercial activity being undertaken by GGI Limited and Good Governance Limited.
