Jo Newton

Joanna’s career has spanned the private, public and voluntary sector. She has a particular interest in governance between organisations and the importance of partnerships in delivery of outcome based improvements in health and wellbeing.

Joanna has extensive board experience as a chair & non-executive director. Her current role as Chair of NHS Herefordshire has led to an innovative partnership with the local authority including the first joint CEO and executive team. In this role Joanna has worked closely with stakeholders across different sectors with a focus on improving outcomes in health & wellbeing for communities.

In addition Joanna chairs the West Midlands / Central Wales cross border group on health & social care and the West Midlands Specialised Commissioning Board, which contracts for specialist and high end services on behalf of 17 primary care trusts.

Joanna is Chair of Governors of her local Primary School and trustee of the local Church youth management committee. In 2003 she chaired the Weobley Parish Plan project co-ordinating 100 local volunteers.
