Dr John Bullivant FIQA CQP

Chairman, Good Governance Institute

John is author of ‘Integrated Governance: A guide to risk and joining up the NHS reforms’ (HFMA, 2011). He is an experienced board facilitator, with an excellent knowledge of policy, governance and the commissioning of quality in the four health administrations in the UK as well as overseas. He is a former board director of a health authority; visiting fellow at the Open University Business School and the University of Glamorgan; Vice President of the quality council of the Royal Society of Medicine. He is a member of the Health Ministers National Advisory Board in Wales, a peer reviewer for Healthcare Inspectorate Wales and an advisor to a number of organisations including the Welsh NHS Confederation, Allocate and Capsticks. John helped establish the ICSA NHS company secretary programme and is board secretary to the all industry Benchmarking Institute. John has held senior positions in central and local government, health and criminal justice and has worked for consultancies and the Audit Commission. Andrew Corbett-Nolan FIQA CQP

Chief Executive, Good Governance Institute

 

Andrew is well known for his work in healthcare quality, risk and governance both in the UK and internationally. Andrew is lead on various national governance development programmes, as well as working on improvement projects with NHS boards. He has held leadership posts in NHS, not-for-profits and private sector organisations on both the executive and non-executive sides. He is director of the European Society for Quality in Healthcare Governance Office. Currently a Fellow of the Open University Business School, Andrew has worked with numerous boards, including aspirant and actual NHS Foundation Trusts, CCG Pathfinders, PCT Clusters, CLRNs and NGOs . Andrew's particular governance topics interests include helping boards understand diversity and inclusion issues, patient safety and commissioning. Darren Thorne 

Director, Good Governance Institute

Darren is a recognised leader in quality improvement, patient safety and governance and has chaired national committee's and networks advising government departments and regulatory bodies. He has also presented at many national and international conferences. Darren has recently been working with a group of GPs to create a health and social care network (Polysystem).  He has held the position of National Lead for Local Quality Improvement for the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) where he commissioned and edited a series of publications in improving clinical quality in healthcare. Darren also contributed to the development of Cost savings in healthcare organisations: the contribution of patient safety - A guide for boards and commissioners. His commercial experience includes working for one of the 'big four' consulting firms as a Subject Matter Expert in Healthcare Quality.
